About the company: Our client is an Austin, TX-based bookkeeping company focused on working with female-owned companies in creative industries, yet services small businesses of any gender over a variety of other industries such as real estate, architecture, beauty, roofing, construction, and more. We prioritize caring for our clients in a way that is friendly and makes them feel confident in the services provided.
Responsibilities:
● Looking for someone with at least 3 years of experience working regularly and confidently in QuickBooks Online as this is the only software used by this company for bookkeeping.
● Experience doing the below bookkeeping activities in addition to the standard bookkeeping tasks of adding receipts and categorizing bank transactions:
o Preparing and submitting TX sales tax filings
o Performing 1099 reviews and submitting the filings
o Executing clean-up projects
o Reconciling balance sheet accounts
o Managing integrations between other software such as Gusto, ADP and invoicing systems with QBOo Reviewing client books at year end
o Potentially training entry level bookkeepers on the team

The owner of the company loves her clients dearly and many have of them have had bad experiences with accountants speaking down to them or being generally unfriendly or cold. It's important that whoever works for this company is good at building relationships with our clients and is good at communicating what we need from them in a way that is both effective yet friendly and supportive.
The Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper will process clients’ bookkeeping transactions, including vendor bill processing and accounts payable, customer invoicing and accounts receivable, reconcile payroll entries using a third party payroll provider, bank account and credit card transactions & reconciliations, general accounting & month-end close, and sales tax filings.
Working under the guidance of the owner, this position will support onboarding of new clients and projects to migrate bookkeeping activities. New clients will require financial analysis to ensure accuracy of previous entries and may need adjusting entries to bring books up to date.
Software:
- QuickBooks Online REQUIRED
- Proficient in MS Office – Outlook, Excel and Word as well as PDF documents
Candidate profile
- A strong knowledge of Intuit QuickBooks Online
- Computer/technology experience
- Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize, work efficiently and take initiative
- Excellent communication skills & a good listener
- Enjoy collaborating and working in a client-facing environment
- Willing to be a team-player while learning and growing with the company
Additional information
Hours per week: 10-15 hours to start, with a majority of the work being done in the beginning two weeks of the month. It is likely these hours can increase if both parties agree it is a good fit!
Hourly rate: $40-45/hour
Location: 100% remote
