Creating more flex employee roles

At Better Balance, we understand the benefits to organizations when people "Work Smart, Spend Smart and Do What They Love". That's why we created Better Balance. 


Our Mission:  To create more Flex Employee roles, which increase productivity, efficiency, and loyalty helping employers retain, avoid layoffs, grow smartly and make return-to-office successful while giving their employees the true balance they seek.


Flex Employee roles are professional roles that are fewer than 40 hours a week that allow people to use their education, experience, talents and skills while maintaining a balance that fits their priorities in life.


We've talked to a variety of people who want or need this type of work, many who are in the sandwich generation, raising families and helping aging parents while trying to work full-time, demanding jobs.  


The reasons why people want or need this type of work is varied including:

  • Helping aging parents and want/need to be more available for them. 
  • Wanting to have a career AND spend quality time with their children and significant others - both men and women.
  • Nearing retirement and want to take a step back without fully stepping out. 
  • Already retired and want to leverage their experience and mentor others in a less demanding capacity than a full-time role.
  • Pursuing further education.
  • Volunteering more.
  • Re-entering the workforce after a break for caregiving.


We know there is a desire and need for this kind of work and we are working to create more roles that offer the true flexibility that people are seeking. 


We educate employers about this need and match talented people looking for a Flex Employee role with the employers looking to hire them.

Step 2: "Get to Know You" Conversation

Once your application is submitted, we will schedule a video interview to learn more about you and what you are looking for and need. If you want or need help updating your current resume or creating a new resume, we offer resume services for our candidates.

Step 3: Career Coaching Session

After the video interview, if you need help identifying your best next steps, we may advise you to meet with a career advisor. We have several advisors we recommend based on your needs. 

Step 4: Second Conversation

When we have a Flex Employee role that matches what you are looking for we will schedule a more in-depth conversation to learn more about your background and experience as it relates to the role.
