Welcome! We are so glad you are here.
At Better Balance, we understand the benefits to employers and employees when people
"Work Smart, Spend Smart and Do What They Love".
We know there are a lot of people who want to work. They want to use their education, experience, talents and skills. They want to contribute to their household budgets. They also want to be available for all the priorities in their lives and the best work situation is a part-time professional role.
Who are these people? They might have aging parents and need to attend doctor's appointments with them. They might be people nearing retirement who want to take a step back without fully stepping out. They might be retired and want to work and use their brain and experience, just not full-time. They might be someone who wants to go back to school to grow their career within your organization. They may be a stay-at-home-parent who wants to re-enter the workforce and still be able to pick their kids up from school. They are people in your neighborhoods, at your child's school, they are people on your team.
We estimate that 10-20% of the skilled labor workforce would consider an opportunity to work part-time if it was offered to them. If that makes you start to sweat a little, don't stress. We can help.

Many times employers have a perception that people who want to work part-time are lazy, unmotivated or unfocused. In fact, they are often quite the opposite. When they leave their day jobs, part-time professionals are often taking care of aging parents or children, volunteering, going to school to further their career or learning a new language or skill.
Advocating for more part-time professional opportunities is just one of Better Balance's three tenets. We think it's the most important one given the challenges employers and employees are facing right now. Watch this space for expansion into the other two tenets: Spend Smart and Do What You Love.
We would love to hear from you! How have you changed the way you work? Do you have a part-time professional role? Please share your story with us. We would love to chat with you.
